Think twice! – Learn the top 5 tips to start planning this year’s Vacations and actually have Fun
Something that I really find fascinating about the New Year is that it is always a great opportunity to start, improve, change, quit, plan, and do something new. The best of all is that it is cyclic, so you have this opportunity every determined amount of time; and the great news is that right now is the perfect moment to start using this to your benefit and the benefit of others. One of the things that you may want to start planning is your next vacations; some people would think that it is too early in the year, but remember the last year’s vacations and tell me: was there anything that you would do with more anticipation? For me that is a yes.
Five of my best friends told me the same thing, they started to move things too late and suddenly every vacation spot was not there anymore. You can think about my friends and I as very messy and disorganized people, but the truth about it is that we are not; the reality is that when we think on vacations during the year is when we most desperately need them, don’t we? And being at that state chances are that we cannot make all things happen the way they we want them to be. That is why I’m sharing this piece of advice with you; this year I am going to make things happen smooth and slow, so that way I can delight my vacations with peace and tranquility. I think you should do the same, and again, it is not that you aren’t well organized; it simply is that we can plan with more anticipation but we choose not to do so.
Something that I find really funny about vacations is that some of us are inclined to plan them poorly, which in fact is like contradictory to what we should do, this is the time of the year when we are supposed to rest, enjoy, have fun, spend time with the family and really have a good time, and because we plan poorly our vacations end up in a crunchy tent in the desert when we were supposed to be at the Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas; and again, it happened to me, so chances are that other people can use this information to reflect on it and decide to plan their vacations in a timely manner.
Don’t take any chances – Make your vacations great this Year
If like me you are considering to plan your vacations early in the year, even when you vacations are still six months away, there are a few things that you may want to do, in my case this list has worked pretty well and I hope that you find it useful.
- Defining the destination: This of course is very important, and even when you think that this should be a no-brainier, the reality is that most people define their vacations destination with very little anticipation, and guess how they define it? They look for the destinations they want to go two weeks before going, then they call hotels and discover that everything is occupied and now there is no choice, so they will have to go or stay where no one else wanted to go or stay.
-
Dates: Another important thing to know is the dates that you will be travelling, this will seem so basic, but if you don’t do it with anticipation you will be dragged to whatever is available. Especially with flights you want to be an early bird, not only you will reserve your seat in the airplane, but also you may have one or two extra discounts.
- Per Diem rates: Depending on the place you want to go is the cost of food, shelter, gasoline, and all those goods that are required in order to make it through the day. You want to know this before your departure so you can plan accordingly.
- The Weather: This is a simple thing that can help you to stay warm if you travel to a cold destination, or cool if you go to the beach; it is very helpful to know the weather forecast before leaving as well as to be prepared for any surprises.
- The budget: It is always important to save with anticipation for your vacations; your savings will have to be in direct proportion with the place, the dates and the per Diem rates of the destination that you choose; this will help you to make your vacations a memorable experience.
Get your plan done and make it happen soon
I tell you this because I’ve been in both sides, and it is very frustrating that when I am supposed to rest and have the best time in the year, the exact opposite thing happens. You want to plan since today, because two months from now, the great opportunities are gone, so don’t procrastinate too much on this and make it happen. In the end it is all for your benefit and the benefit of the people who will be traveling with you.
