Many couples rush into picking their honeymoon destinations – simply going with whatever is cheapest or wherever is easiest to get to. This is all wrong though – you need to choosing the perfect destination for you and your new spouse – because the perfect destination means the perfect holiday!
There are loads of beautiful places around the world to choose from, with lots suiting to different tastes and interests. This list is made up of 5 of the most romantic destinations you could possibly go to for your honeymoon – all are ranging in budget and all will suit different types of couples, who might be after different things.

Good for: Couples who like sightseeing, an active holiday, the city and romantic activities from movies.
New York City is the perfect destination for those couples who want an activity packed honeymoon, but still want oodles of romance in a picture perfect setting. NYC is gorgeous in the winter too, as well as the summer – making it the perfect destination for all year round romance. In Christmas time enjoy a carriage ride around Central Park as the snow falls gently around you – it’s so romantic you’ll never want to leave!

Good for: couples who want to escape, beach lovers, sun worshippers and those who want to take it easy.
The Maldives is perhaps the ultimate beach resort, with perfect, sandy, white beaches being the complete norm here. Whilst this honeymoon destination is likely to set you back financially, you pay for what you get and what you get is as near to perfect as you’ll ever experience. Many hotels are freestanding in the ocean with private pools, private beaches and butler service! Sounds like heaven to me!

Venice is known as one of Europe’s most romantic destinations, so this city won’t disappoint if that’s what you’re after. The great thing about Venice is the lovely weather in Spring, the incredible structure of the city and the great cuisine too. They say, you should only take your first gondola ride with the one you love – so what better time to do it than on your honeymoon? Sit back and float along the city’s water ways whilst being serenaded.

Good for: Couples who like mild weather, couples who like the countryside and couples who want an escape from city life.
Cornwall is home to some of the most stunning scenery in the UK, and every summer many people flock to the area to enjoy these views and the unique culture this area offers too. If you want to enjoy some nightlife and dining – then staying in the main resorts is a good idea as you’ll have easy access to the local amenities. However if you want something truly romantic, go for a secluded cottage overlooking the ocean.

Good for: couples who want something exciting and different, couples who love the water and couples who love beach life.
The Whitsunday Islands are definitely one of the most romantic spots in Australia, and it’s one of the most picturesque too. The gorgeous sandy beaches are near perfect and the weather is usually great all year round. Enjoy a luxury hotel resort on the oceanfront, or take a private charter around the islands for something really unique.
