While many people think that traveling costs a fortune, it’s not like that. Of course, you need money, but you don’t have to spend a fortune if you know how to travel on a budget. You can find many budget-friendly flight fares and hotels, even if you are looking for accommodation Sydney. Yes, you can travel without spending lots of money and here’s how.

    Cruise

If you’re already on holiday in one of Australia’s major cities, then why not make your holiday even more special by spending a few days at sea? Cruise holidays are one of the most popular options for Australian families and couples alike. The most popular departure ports for cruises out of Australia are Sydney and Brisbane respectively. All of the major cruise lines depart from these ports including Royal Caribbean, Carnival Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, and P&O Cruises Australia. Cruising is one of the most economical ways to see the beautiful islands off Queensland, as well as the stunning tropical island paradises of Fiji, Noumea, and Vanuatu. And because Australia is located so close to the Pacific Islands, quad cabin prices to these destinations start from a low as $50 per person per night, making these excellent value for money.

    Flights

The first thing you need to take care of is your flight. This includes both, the flight to and the flights within Australia since you probably won’t sit in one place. In order to find the lowest fare, you can check out some famous sites which offer great deals on flights and the websites of domestic budget airlines. Or, you can book a red-eye flight because they are usually cheaper than flights during the daytime due to their flight time.

    Accommodation

Besides the general opinion that developed countries, such as Australia, have expensive accommodation, there are many hotels that offer great deals and good prices. You just need to look online. So, if, for example,  you want to stay in Melbourne, you should search for boutique hotels Melbourne.

    Food And Drink

While eating out is expensive, you can find food at local food markets. There are many permanent food markets and farmer’s markets. To save even more, you can visit the stores just before closing time because vendors offer great deals in that period. You don’t have to worry about preparing the food because there are many free public barbeque facilities in the parks where you can cook. There are also hostel kitchens which you can use to cook your food.

When it comes to drinks, you can buy them in the local supermarkets or in liquor stores, depending on what you are looking for. Namely, if you want to buy juice, sprinkling water or other non-alcoholic drinks, you can find them in supermarkets. But, if you are looking for alcohol, then, you should visit a liquor store because the drinks there are much cheaper.

    Exploring Australia

    Transport

Apart from flying across Australia, you can also take a bus or buy/rent a campervan. Although it’s not as fast as with a plane, traveling by bus is the cheapest option. Plus, it allows you to see the amazing scenery of Australia without spending lots of money on individual journeys.

According to travelers on a budget, the Greyhound Bus is among the cheapest means of transportation. Namely, you can get a travel pass for around $500, which allows you to get on and off as many times as you like. Hence, you can travel the entire island for as little and $500.

The other option, buying/renting a campervan, is a great idea ONLY if you are traveling with your friends, family, or with a group. It’s because, in that way,  you can split the gas expense with the others. Although driving is more expensive than flying, it allows you to visit every place you want and stop wherever you want. Plus, if it’s big enough, you can use it as accommodation while traveling across the country. That will save you money because you won’t have to pay for a room while exploring the country.

    Where To Go?

Traveling across Australia isn’t expensive because there are a lot of places you can visit that are free of charge. Yes, you can explore the amazing nature of Australia without spending a cent. So, where can you go?

    • Sightseeing – You can visit all the beautiful beaches of Australia and find many amazing ocean pools near the beaches in Sydney. You can also visit places like the Botanical Gardens in Brisbane and Melbourne or go hiking through the Blue Mountains of Sydney.
