    Best Summer Road Trip Destinations

One of the best things about summer is the feeling of spontaneity.

Whether it is because you’re on summer break, the kids are out of school or if work slows down while the weather heats up, possibilities always seem a little more endless in the summer.

A great way to take advantage of the warm weather and summer spirit is to go on a road trip.  With either friends or family, a road trip is the perfect way to make sure you have a great story to share from your summer.

The hardest part about planning a road trip can be deciding where you want to go!  Check out this list of great road trip destinations all over the United States.  Any of them are perfect no matter who you are travelling with.

    New York City

The list of things to do in New York is endless, which makes it a great road trip destination.

No matter who you are travelling with, destinations like the Statue of Liberty, the Museum of Natural History, Time Square and Central Park are unique spots that you can’t see anywhere else.

In addition to these New York City landmarks, the New York Yankees and Mets are in season throughout the entire summer, and going to a game is a great way to have fun in the city.  If you’re going with friends, the nightlife in New York is seemingly endless.

Plus, years could be spent trying all the amazing restaurants the city has to offer.

    Nashville

Often referred to as ‘Music City’, Nashville offers a lot to road trippers.

While music may get the headlines, Nashville is actually home to many great dining options.  While it may not be quite the barbeque hotbed that Memphis is, tourists can still find great food at places like Edley’s, Jim N’ Nicks and Whitt’s Barbeque.

Because it is such an epicenter for music, specifically country music, Nashville is home to the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.  This music culture also means there are several bars that have live music almost every night.

A unique tourist destination that Nashville offers is a full-scale replica of the Greek Parthenon, which is in the city’s Centennial Park.

    Seattle

Continuing with the music theme, Seattle also has a rich music history as it is the birthplace of the legendary Jimi Hendrix and grunge rock, which was made famous by local groups including Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and more.

A great tourist attraction in this Pacific Northwest city is the World Famous Fish Market, which is home to the ‘flying fish’ that are thrown by the vendors.

Tourists can also visit the Seattle Art Museum, Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park, Museum of History and Industry, Museum of Flight and other tourist destinations.

The great thing about summer is that even if these cities are hundreds of miles away, the time in the car always seems a little shorter when the weather is nice.  Take a trip to one of these great cities and make an incredible summer memory.
