Students of a vocational school clashed with supporters of ex-premier Thaksin Shinawatra on Saturday morning in front of Supachalasai stadium, where they gather to await for his phone-in speech at night.
According to witnesses, gun shots were heard inside the compound of the Pathumwan Institute of Technology. But there are no reports of injuries.
About 200 police were deployed in front of the institute to prevent the students from clashing with the supporters of United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship.
After the clash, police opened the entrance of the stadium to let the supporters go inside.
