Spain Vacations: What Else Is There?

Spain may be one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world, but you may think that the nation offers little else than sun, sea and sand. With a fantastic coastline, this Mediterranean retreat offers beautiful sandy beaches and a tide-less sea which, when combined with a hot climate, makes the perfect beach destination. However, there is a huge amount to do in Spain other than visiting resorts and lying on beaches. And if you want a truly unforgettable trip you can easily go out of your way to explore a little off the beaten track.

There are a multitude of vacation options, including easyJet holidays in Majorca, which offer great deals and discounts so that you can keep your trip as inexpensive as possible. And even on the most traditional of Spanish holidays you can ensure that you gain a better experience by simply having some basic language skills. This will allow you to interact with locals in their native language; an effort that will be greatly rewarded. And you’ll discover that you’ll be welcomed much more freely and may not only make friends but also be shown some exciting hotspots not normally frequented by tourists.

If you’re heading to the beautiful island of Majorca then there is far more to do than simply lying around on beaches getting a tan. You’ll still be able to enjoy the great weather by getting out and about, and taking the Torrent de Pareis gorge walk is an inspirational and exhilarating five miles of exercise. It might sound daunting at first, by with most of the walk on a descent course, and the addition of rugged and coastal paths to explore, the tour, which ends in Puerto Soller, is well worth the effort. There are also lots of opportunities for cycling and kayaking around Palma City, allowing you to go as fast or slow as you want whilst discovering the area in an entirely new way. And if you really want to get back to nature then taking a Segway tour and exploring the island on horse-back will be perfect.

On Spain’s mainland there are also lots of opportunities to do something a little different and go away with memories which will be unforgettable. Spain has plenty of festivals to participate in, and even if you just visit one, you’ll have something to talk about when you get home. The Seville Fair, held around Easter, is one of the countries largest and most exciting festivals. If you want to party like never before then this festival, with horse processions, dancing, drinking and eating, will thrill you throughout the night. Spain’s famous tomato fighting fiesta is renowned around the world. Taking place on the last Wednesday of August, over 30,000 people take to the streets to throw tomatoes at each other. Meanwhile, watching the Bull Running in Pamplona is another popular event. And if you want to enjoy Spain in an entirely new way, simply seeking out some of the nations’ cultural identity will provide last memories of something a little different.
