The 4 Best Places to Cruise This Spring 2013

As the seasons change, some passenger liners bring in their anchors and move to somewhere else in the world. As such, travellers can typically make use of discount berths since these boats are headed on a one-way trip to a far-off destination. In spring 2013, there are a number of excellent long distance deals which can be taken advantage of thanks to these repositioning packages. If you are stuck for some ideas about where to go, here are some of the most promising cruise routes available.IMG_0984

    North America

At this time of year, there are numerous long distance voyages to and from coastal cities all around the USA, Canada and elsewhere. Some of the most diverse include:

    • New York to Los Angeles
    • Fort Lauderdale to Montreal
    • Vancouver to Los Angeles
    • Los Angeles to New Orleans
    • Boston to Tampa

You will notice that some of these journeys start on the East Coast and end up on the West (or vice versa). These routes pass through the magnificent Panama Canal, giving tourists the chance to see some of Latin America during their travels as well. Since you are generally sailing along the coast, except if visiting the Caribbean, ships will stop at a port of call every one or two days, breaking up the seagoing legs into manageable chunks.

    Middle East to Europe

As temperatures rise in Europe, more and more cruise liners head on over there for the summer schedule. Some depart from the Middle East, giving passengers the chance to see this highly exotic region of the globe in a luxurious manner. Most stop off in cities such as Dubai, Aqaba and Alexandria where you will witness some truly magnificent examples of history, culture, cuisine and craftsmanship.

The added bonus of this journey is that travellers will also get the chance to journey through the Suez Canal. Some cruise ships also venture onto other ports of call in the Mediterranean as well. This means that you can combine two traveller-friendly regions of the world (the Middle East and Europe) into the one exciting adventure.

    Atlantic Crossings

If you are itching to experience one of the greatest journeys on Earth, the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean, you are now in luck. From the USA to Europe, plenty of ocean liners will soon make this two-week long expedition and are now looking for passengers. As spring 2013 approaches, berths are currently available on ships travelling from ports such as Galveston in Texas to destinations in the UK, Spain, Italy and more.

This is a smart option for those living in Britain as you will only have to buy a one-way ticket to the US. Once you have landed at your port of embarkation, you can then relax as your cruise liner brings you back home safe and sound. These voyages can take in the Caribbean and South-western Europe too depending on the route.

    Western Europe

Finally, as the warmer temperatures tempt people to the Mediterranean, passenger liners in the Baltic get ready for the long journey south. This means that you can experience a sizeable portion of Western Europe in the one ocean voyage. Departing from Germany or Sweden in the north, you will then journey past multiple countries, stopping off in Holland, France, Spain and Italy to name a few.

These routes are also not too expensive either, as they involve one-way tickets to locations nearby within Europe and also only take about a week to complete. If you wish to witness a diverse range of local cultures in the one easy travelling experience, this type of long distance tour comes highly recommended.
