Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts has announced a global marketing initiative in collaboration with the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) aimed at encouraging tourists to return to Thailand following the civic unrest and protests witnessed in the region in late 2008.
“We are very upbeat about Thailand’s potential and are confident that tourists will return,” said Banyan Tree Bangkok director of sales and marketing Sunee U Thaikittisup. “That’s why we’re giving an additional incentive to draw new and old guests back to Phuket and Bangkok.”
Throughout January 2009 a total of 1000 complimentary room nights at Banyan Tree Bangkok and Banyon Tree Phuket can be won by members of the public who go online at either www.banyantree.com/thaismiles or www.tourismthailand.org/thalandsuperdeal.
The offer entitles guests who book online to a complimentary consecutive night’s stay. Stays will be valid from February 1 to April 31 2009.
“We welcome Banyan Tree’s efforts to contribute to the growth of Thailand’s tourism industry and build traveller confidence in these challenging times,” added TAT deputy governor for international marketing Santichai Euachongprasit.
“Our experience with other crises has shown us how to cope — by helping each other. Everyone in the tourism industry is working hard to get Thailand smiling again.”
