Snorkeling works by requiring the swimmer to wear a diving mask, swim fins, a wetsuit in lower temperatures, and of course, a snorkel. A fantastic way to experience and explore underwater attractions, snorkeling is one of the most popular recreational activities and can be enjoyed by people of all ages. Snorkeling allows tourists to watch the life below the surface and swim with the corals and reefs all through the blue water.

Cebu and its nearby islands have a variety of iconic landscapes of the Philippines, such as white beaches, palm trees, turquoise water, and colorful corals. The coral reef is located on the peninsula of Moalboal, acting as a haven for snorkeling enthusiasts. Cebu features a striking variety of soft and hard corals in great abundance.

While snorkeling in Cebu, one can experience hard and soft coral-covered reefs inhabited by a wide variety of colorful reef dwellers. Snorkeling in the reef with numerous kinds of corals and tropical fish should prove to be an exciting and unforgettable experience. The pristine views and inhabitants make the island the perfect marine destination.

Snorkelers in Cebu are expected to enjoy close encounters with reef fish easily visible at the shallow depth of 2 to 3 meters. The inhabitants of the sea here are tall fin bat fish, jack fish, snappers, groupers, ghost pipe fish, and more. Also common in this dive site are frog fish, parrot fish, and mandarin which tourists can often view through Cebu’s crystal clear water before even beginning to snorkel.

Snorkel Plus is a fun filled activity carried out by the tourists of Cebu. This involves diving with a group of up to four persons from one ring that is easy to manage underwater. One can choose to interact with the beautiful ocean life during this activity by swimming alongside the peaceful creatures and can even feed the sea creatures with suggested foods. Although snorkel is a lot safer than scuba diving, it is still with some level of dangerous. You need to make sure that your travel insurance will cover the activities nearby the water.

Snorkel Plus has standard operating procedures which include that a person should wear a weights belt, a diving mask, a regulator, a hold ring, and take short lessons beforehand. When submerged underwater, the operating procedures indicate that one hand should hold the ring while the other hand interacts with the ocean life. The procedures allow the snorkeler to enjoy the fish and the coral reef for an expected time of thirty minutes.

Snorkeling is a popular, fun-filled activity that is especially fantastic to experience in the beautiful island of Cebu. If you’re planning on snorkeling in Cebu, remember to bring an underwater camera with you to preserve these precious moments to look back on fondly or to share with others when you return home.
