Discover a whole new world of adventure

Your home is your haven. It’s where you return to after work, it’s where you spend time as a family, where you invite friends for dinner and where you can close the door on the world for a while. And that’s all fine. But sometimes it can do you good to leave what’s familiar behind and see what’s out there. It can do you the world of good.

Of course, most of us venture away from home from time to time. We perhaps visit relatives in different parts of the country, we take an annual holiday maybe abroad, or enjoy an occasional weekend break. But there really is a big wide world out there and it is just waiting to be explored. Whether you’re planning a mass exodus with a large group or you’re going it alone, there’s such a lot to discover.

You don’t need to go too far outside your comfort zone to enjoy travelling. For example, if you’ve always loved beach holidays there’s no need to suddenly start feeling obliged to take a mountain climbing holiday (unless the urge strikes you, of course). Returning to the same place year in year out can be comforting in its familiarity, but you could really surprise yourself by trying something new. If you travel exodus style then why not ask everyone in your group where their dream holiday would be? If you’ve always gone to the Mediterranean then why not give the Caribbean a go? The beaches are stunning, the sun is shining and it’s just a few extra hours on the plane, not exactly a hardship.

Similarly, if you’re more adventurous then now’s the time to push yourself with some new challenges. There is a huge range of holiday companies available who will organise watersports, climbing, hiking or cycling holidays (or a combination of them all) so indulge your inner adrenalin junkie and get going! Holidays and travel are massively personal things, so it’s all about doing whatever you enjoy the most.
If you’ve never tried winter sports, then what’s stopping you? Skiing and snowboarding are popular pastimes for a very good reason, as they really are addictive. If you’ve never tried them before, then don’t let that put you off. Most winter sports holidays cater for all types of level and experience, so if it’s something you’ve always fancied then nothing should hold you back.

Travelling with a young family can undoubtedly be a challenge and it can be tempting to either not go anywhere or to return to the tried-and-tested kid friendly hotel time after time. Nothing wrong with that, but your kids will thank you for taking them somewhere different! You don’t need to do anything spectacular to get kids engaged with a holiday   check out the range of adventures and trips that are specially designed for those travelling with a young family.
