    Europe has a large music scene that helps local artist break out and also helps established artists become more recognizable. Europe also has a lot of different music festivals that highlight both new artists and chart-topping artists and that make great destinations for cheap holidays . The best music festivals will not only have the best music, but will bring you a lot of job. You will be entertained, have fun and hear new music that you may not have heard before.

    The Festival Internacional de Benicàssim- This festival takes place in Spain in the small port town known as Benicassim. It is located near Barcelona and Velencia and is the perfect location for this festival. It takes place every year in July and highlights alternative bands. This past year the world-wide known alternative band, The Strokes, headlines the festival. It is the perfect location for relaxing on the beach and enjoying good music.

    Open’er Festival- This music festival takes place in Gdynia, Poland, a north coastal town. The festival is yearly in early July and caters to all music genre’s. The festival is one big party and occurs on a large airfield. Past artists include Pearl Jam, Fatboy Slim, Cypress Hill and most recently, Coldplay.

    Inmusic Festival- This music festival takes place in Croatia and is the largest open-air festival in the country. It started in 2005 and has been an annual event ever since. The 2011 festival featured Jamiroquai and Cypress Hill.

    Roskilde European Music Festival- Taking place in Denmark, this large music festival was developed by a non-profit organization in order to promote the music industry and local culture. This past festival featured the Kings of Leon.
    Exit- This single-named music festival taked place in Serbia and has been an annual even since 2003. It last four days and is the musical even of the summer. It has a wide range of music genres and artists have include Lily Allen and Jamiroquai. The festival even has its own website with MP3’s available for purchase.

    Music is a large part of European culture. Having different music festivals is vital for keeping the music scene present. Whether you enjoy the music or are just looking for a fun time, visiting one of these music festivals is guaranteed to be enjoyable.
