Five Great Things to Do On Vacation in Mexico

    1. Go Diving in Arrecife Palancar: Arrecife Palancar is an underwater extravaganza, a paradise for divers and famous all around the world for its incredible sea-life and amazing visibility. This beautiful underwater haven is only one mile out from Cozumel and yet offers visibility of 230 feet and the best site in all of the Americas for underwater photography. At its deepest part it is more than 80feet down and this makes it ideal for those divers wanting to dive amidst colourful aquatic life.

For the less adventurous, or more relaxed, take a dive into the northern end of the reef, known as Palancar Gardens, and the shallower, but still beautiful caverns.

    2. Go Shopping in Tiaquepue: For the shopaholics among you, make sure you spend a day in this charming and elegant suburb of Guadalajara, which is a paradise for those with money to burn. This is a suburb free of traffic and dedicated to shopping, with over 300 boutique stores selling homemade clothes, textiles, crystals and jewellery.

    3. Take the Tequila Express from Guadalajara: Once you’re done shopping in Guadalajara, why not dump the bags in the hotel and take a ride on the Tequila Express? The train will take you from Guadalajara onto the Hacienda de San Jose del Refugio – where they make the finest Tequila Herradurra. The best bit is that while you are on board and en route, the train will provide you with beer, tequila and a mariachi. When you get to your destination, before you tuck into more tequila, they provide you with a fantastic traditional lunch.

    4. Whoop it up in Cabo San Lucas: If you want the best of Mexican nightlife then head to the world famous Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, which is managed and owned by the frontman of Van Halen, Sammy Hagar and packs a heaving rock and roll crowd. Every night seems to have a different rock band playing there and they keep playing until the sun rises.

    5. Swing in the Canopy: This is an amazing excursion but only for those with a head for heights. Glide between the treetops on a secure and ingenious pulley and platform system, whilst a tour guide gives you a great tour of the canopy and ecosystem below you. A fantastic experience.
