Walt Disney World
One of the most common misconceptions about Walt Disney World is that it is one giant theme park, in reality the complex consists of several parks with varying themes, from traditional Disney cartoons and magic to futuristic living and behind the scenes exploration of movie making.
Magic Kingdom Park
The Magic Kingdom is what most people think of when they imagine Disney World. This family-friendly park is centred around the iconic Cinderella’s Castle and features such famous attractions as Space Mountain and the Haunted Mansion.
With something for children of all ages you never know who you’re going to bump into, from your favourite Pixar character to the main mouse himself, Mickey. There are also regular parades and shows which make every day a magical party.
Epcot
Dedicated to world culture and technological advancement, the Epcot park is like a miniature world in one, with replicas of some of typical scenery from around the globe, as well as films and theatre shows which are both entertaining and educational. This park is ideal for young explorers who have a thirst for knowledge.
Animal Kingdom

Hollywood Studios
Formerly Disney MGM Studios, this park celebrates everything Hollywood, with behind the scenes looks at blockbusters, adrenaline-fuelled live action shows and even the chance to experience special effects first hand. This park is great for anybody with a love of the magic of the movies but, with several timetabled shows, it requires slightly more planning than the other areas of Walt Disney World.
Universal Studios Orlando
As with Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Orlando is one site split into separate-entrance parks, both brimming with colourful and exciting adventures to experience and explore.
Universal Studios Florida
This park offers a world of wonder for film fans of all ages and places you firmly at the centre of the action. Experience blockbusters first-hand as you help save the universe with the Men in Black, have a close encounter with man-eating shark Jaws or take a trip to the funfair with the Simpsons. The action is non-stop, but if you want a sit down try taking in one of the shows, from the spooktacular Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue to the more child-friendly day with Barney the dinosaur.
Islands of Adventure
If Universal Studios Florida has the action, Islands of Adventure has the adrenaline. One of the first things you’ll notice upon entering the park is the twisting heights of The Incredible Hulk coaster, which will transform you, if not into the Hulk himself, then at least a screaming ball of excitement, as you are flung through the air. Other rides include an exploration of Jurassic Park and a chance to swing through the rooftops with your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman.
The park’s biggest new addition is the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, where you can attend the famous Hogwarts school, fly through the air, and try your hand at a little magic. The area faithfully recreates details from the book, from the Three Broomsticks tavern to Ollivanders wand shop.
