Have you ever found yourself caught up in the frantic pace of life: stuck inside the prison cells of 9am to 5pm, tending tiredly to the children, or climbing patiently up the endless ladder of higher education? Too often, we find ourselves trapped by the regular patterns of life, drained by the mundane, and even depressed in the pursuit of things we once considered our most glorious of goals. (I found myself right in that very situation just a couple of years ago). When the stresses of life build and the trees start to lose their color, it might just be time to getaway, take a day off, or embark on an adventure. How extreme your adventure needs to be depends entirely on how severely daily life has had the opportunity to disillusion you. Extreme times call for extreme measures, so if you’re reading this with the weight of the world on your shoulders, it’s time to release that burden.

What to do? Where to go?

That release will look different for every person. One of my most treasured escapes is weekend road trips. Where I live, there are so many places to visit that are just 2, 4, or 6 hours in a car. I find that a little getaway will refresh my mind and spirit and keep me going for at least a month or two. For someone else, it might mean a day-trip planned to the beach to enjoy the sun and sand. For another, a much heavier treatment might be required, something along the lines of a week or two weeks abroad, touring throughout spectacular and unfamiliar country.

With almost two hundred different countries in the world, the choices available are plentiful and diverse, and the activities to do are endless. For example, in the beautiful country of Spain, tours are available to display the country’s wonderful pieces of architecture, villages, castles, mountains, and rivers. There is so much to see and do beyond the walls of our regular, everyday life. Since we can’t tell you about every single country out there, we’re simply going to highlight the wonders of just one… you guessed it…Spain!

    The Many Wonders of Spain

Spain has an incredibly vast array of archaeological sites to offer all types of vacationers, with variety unlike any other place on Earth. It is the second largest western country in Europe and the fifty-first largest country in the entire world. It is located in southwest Europe on the Iberian Peninsula. The south and east sides of Spain are lined mostly by the Mediterranean Sea, while the west side reaches the Atlantic Ocean and Portugal. Spain is famous for its integration of different cultures, scenic areas, and extreme diversity in weather.

You will also be amazed by the sheer variety of available guided tours and walking tours in Spain. Along the northern coast, tours are available along the Camino De Santiago pilgrimage route from Bilbao to Santiago de Compostela. In this area, you can also tour Barcelona, marvel at the wonderful architecture of Gaudi, and see the tenth century castle of Holy Roman Emperor Charles V that borders both Spain and France. In southern Spain, the locals offer walking tours to see Andalucia and the Moorish influences.  Throughout the entire country, a vast array of cultural experiences are available thanks to the merging influences of the Roman Catholic Church and Islamic immigrants.

    Final Thoughts

There are thousands of different vacation opportunities all throughout the world. It’s going to be hard to pick just one. Typically, each location offers a specific draw. If you know exactly what you are looking for, it’s easy to find the best place. And if you don’t know exactly what you want, that’s ok too! There are many different online resources to help you find the perfect place to suit your getaway needs. I’d suggest starting with this wonderful site that you’re one right now!

If you are suffering from the mundane, repetitive circles of life, there is hope and rest available to you. It is time to step outside the four white walls and become enlightened to the spectacular things this incredible world has to offer. Whether you choose to take the leap and go big on an overseas trip or just take off for a day or a weekend… you’ll be amazed at the results. So just do it!
