Whenever you send employees on business trips, there are practical considerations to mull over. Cost is one of course; as is ease of transport to and from the accommodation.

Considering cost, when looking at business places to stay in Cambridge, is contingent on the number of employees you need to send there and the length of time for which they will stay. Below five nights, the practicalities generally point towards hotels – they’re designed to put business travellers up for short periods of time, and have the service infrastructure behind them to arrange for local transport (taxis for example) as their occupants require.
Over five nights, the cost of hotel accommodation can become increasingly hard for a business to bear – particularly if more than one employee is travelling. Paying for individual rooms for each person can represent a significant drain on budget.
In this case, it is worth looking at alternative business places to stay in Cambridge: serviced apartments for example. While less suited to short term arrangements (anything less than a week), serviced apartments become a viable option – and a potentially cheaper one – as soon as the mid to long term stay becomes a requirement.
A serviced apartment commonly charges a flat rate for occupancy, no matter how many of its berths are used. Extra charges only become an issue if extra spare beds are required – in apartments where this option is possible, of course.
Because of this, putting employees up together under one roof can represent a significant saving over the cost of putting them up separately, in hotel rooms.
It is necessary to look at other considerations for business places to stay in Cambridge as well – for example, the distance of the accommodation to the location the employees will be spending their days. Fortunately for the accounts manager, the distance between serviced apartment locations and common places for travelling workers to go (the industrial estates surrounding the city) are essentially the same
A serviced apartment is an excllent idea for accomodation for a few people. Overall it could well average out at a lower cost than a hotel and many hotels do not provide eating options now, just rooms, so the liklihood is you would have to go out to eat. That in itself is an easy task in Cambridge as there are many eateries in the City.
