I remember my first summer in Israel. My sister, who had lived for two years in Israel, rang to ask how I was doing. I told her I wanted to cut the call short as I was running to the beach and didn’t want to waste any time as perhaps the weather would turn cooler any moment. She started to laugh and said, “Forget it! Prepare not to see a drop of rain or receive any respite from the heat for the next few months.” I was incredulous.

In short, summers in Israel are long and hot. In Tel Aviv, the temperature is approximately 90 degrees Fahrenheit (32 degrees Celsius) day after day with 70% humidity. In short, it’s damn hot. In the south, at Eilat the temperature can reach in excess of 104 degrees Fahrenheit (40 degrees Celsius) but it is a dry heat, making it tolerable. In Jerusalem, the humidity is not as high as in the center and the evenings are more mild.
With Israel’s extensive coastline and great beaches it means that spending summer in the Holy Land is all about fun in the sun. Being able to enjoy Israel from the available Israel luxury real estate will make your trip even more enjoyable.
You may be tempted to have the type of holiday the Israelis call “beten/gav,” literally “stomach/back” whereby you rotate from one side of your body to the other to ensure the perfect tan; however, if you did so you would miss out on many great holiday memories.
The cafes and restaurants in Israel are abundant and provide excellent treats. Try a “café barad,” (ice coffee) or “limonana” (lemonade with mint) to quench your thirst. Similarly, the seafood is excellent and plentiful.
Shopping should not be neglected due to the hot weather. Take in the summer fashions, both local and international, in the air conditioned comfort of the shops or malls.
The weather, food, and shopping doesn’t mean that you should neglect the cultural side of things. Israel has a thriving art scene, and if you understand Hebrew, the theater is outstanding. If you don’t understand Hebrew, there is always the opera.
In short, the possibilities when visiting Israel in summer are almost endless. Just do yourself a favor and remember not to pack a sweater; after all, they are so heavy and bulky which means you have less room for your purchases; and the fact is that you really won’t be needing it.
