Here in post-recession 2014, it seems everybody is feeling as though they have that little bit of extra cash in their pockets. For those of us who are fashion inclined, this can only mean one thing: shopping. Shopping isn’t just something that we do when we need to buy a specific thing; it’s an excuse to treat ourselves, to forget our problems, and sometimes shopping can even be an excuse to go on holiday.

With that being the case, I thought I’d put together a list of some of the best places internationally that will give you a truly exceptional shopping experience. So, if you’re shopping obsessed, here are three places around the world that you need to have on your bucket list.
New Century Global Centre
There’s no way that we could write an article about international shopping destinations without mentioning the New Century Global Centre in Chengdu, China. As the largest single structure building in the world, it is large enough to house not just some of the finest east meets west designer shops across the world, but also an artificial beach, a number of luxury hotels, restaurants, bars, an ice rink and a water park. With all of this and more, you could have your whole holiday in this incredible indoor wonderland and never venture out.
Every Square Inch of Dubai
Of course, Dubai had to be on our list. With luxurious designer shops around every corner, and weird and wonderful experiences to be had in every direction, every person who is even remotely interested in shopping should take a trip to this Middle Eastern paradise. With companies like LetsGo2 offering bespoke holidays that will ensure you can make the most of your precious time in Dubai, this is somewhere you have to experience for yourself to truly appreciate what fine shopping experiences there are to be had there.
Traditional Meets Metropolitan in Edinburgh
Have we surprised you with this one? The Scottish capital of Edinburgh isn’t just a small town with an old castle, it’s a thriving metropolis with a great range of high end fashion retail for you to experience. On top of what you’d expect to see, you’ll also find truly Scottish garments like the famous kilt, and Harris Tweed.
So there you have it: some of the finest places across the world to shop. If you didn’t already have these places on your bucket list, you now should have.
