What better way to do that than to cruise around the world. There are many different cruise lines that offer attractive vacation deals on cruises for seniors, but only a few have made it to this list of Top Five Cruises For Seniors.

    1. Holland America
A line that caters especially to seniors, Holland America has many benefits included in their offers such as their famous afternoon tea, a social host program or ballroom dancing. With 12 ships and a variety of cruises, Holland America takes its older cruisers to all seven continents, treating seniors with frequent sales and discounts.
Endowed with spacious and comfortable staterooms, the Holland America ships travel across the globe offering cruisers a unique blend of traditional voyages and exotic sailing experiences.

    2. Silversea
Travelers who wish to make the best of their retirement days can enjoy sailing with Silversea, the world’s best small ship cruise line. Their rates are unique as they include gratuities, all alcoholic beverages, and handling fees.

Silversea comes with an exclusive feel, with offerings such as the Gentlemen Hosts program, large cabins, personalized service and gourmet dishes. Although Silversea is ranked as one of the ultra-luxury lines, you can enjoy significant savings for smart cruisers who pay or book earlier.

    3. Crystal
Crystal features a variety of programs and facilities that are hard to match even by premier lines including afternoon tea, bridge lessons, dance hosts for solo women, instruction in a variety of areas, and many more. Crystal has been the recipient of the World’s Best Large Cruise Line Award and is a leader in high class cruising across the globe.

With an unwavering commitment to high class service, Crystal also presents seniors with special discounts on early bookings. The best savings can be obtained on Alaska cruises.

    4. Cunard
Cunard is the preferred choice for most retirees who can afford to cruise for weeks or months at a time. With Queen Elizabeth 2 and Queen Mary 2 as their icons, Cunard enjoys an excellent reputation for providing all types of sailings and a wide variety of facilities including fitness, entertainment and relaxation venues.
Despite the fact that they are highly appreciated as a luxury line, Cunard has surprisingly affordable rates. Traditional minded cruisers can enjoy special offerings such as a planetarium, a college-at-sea program, workshops, and a bookstore.

    5. Norwegian Cruise Line
Although it is considered a mainstream line, Norwegian prides itself with affordable rates, freestyle cruising and attractive senior deals. Norwegian sails to all parts of the world with its 12 ships, taking cruisers to Bermuda, South America and Europe. They also specialize in homeland cruises and have 13 departure ports in North America.

Known for their special vacation deals on cruises, Norwegian offers many exclusive and incredible fares for seniors over 55. Their Freestyle Cruising enjoys the appreciation of those who prefer freedom instead of set mealtimes.

    1. Would you say any of these are particularly good for a “mixed” group that includes a senior? I ask because I’m only 22, but my mother is 63 and has some health issues that make extensive walking painful. She’s never traveled (neither have I, but I still have decades) and has expressed some interest in cruises before. I’d love to save up and take her on a cruise that would fit her needs but allow all adults. It sounds like of these ones, Norwegian might be closest to what I’m thinking of, especially because we’re very close to NYC and that would be so convenient.
