5 Must See Places to Visit in Asia

    1) The Gili Islands– The tourist slogan for the Gili islands describes it as a place with no cars, no motorbikes and no worries. The sands of the Gili’s are sparkling white and the seas a beautiful shade of turquoise.  If you’re a fan of scuba diving then get your wetsuit out and prepare to see everything from clown fish (yay Nemo!) to baby turtles. The best thing about the Gili’s is that they offer the best of everything. Head to Trawangan for beach parties and booze, Air for great restaurants and Meno if you want some time away from the rest of the world!

    2) Angkor– One of the UNESCO world heritage sites, Angkor really is a sight to behold. Dedicated to the Hindu God Vishnu, the temple complex hosts over a thousand temples with the most famous being Angkor Wat. Go early to avoid the crowds and be sure to look out for the resident monkeys swinging from the roof!

    3) Ko Phi Phi, Thailand– This island is the place that holidays are made of and was the setting for ‘The Beach’ (that film where Leo DiCaprio took his shirt off…a lot). Although severely damaged by the 2004 Tsunami, the resilient island has quickly returned to its former glory and is testament to the Thai people. Grab some Pad Thai, hire a long tail boat and head off for an afternoon of dreams!

    4) Tokyo– Although a city, Tokyo is a sight in its own right. The home of Sushi and Geishas, Tokyo is also a thriving metropolis, and many will argue the fashion capital of Asia. You could spend all day shopping in the fashionable Ginza Ginza district or sitting in a side street cafe eating bubbling hot ramen.  Just don’t leave without spending a night like the locals and hitting up a Karaoke bar!

    5)  The Great Wall. No must see list of Asia would be complete without a trip to see the Great Wall of China. Spanning over a massive 4000 miles a 7 mile part of the wall at Badaling is open to tourists. Remember to take your camera for a Facebook profile picture that’ll make all your friends jealous.

If you still haven’t done everything and are desperate to see more of Asia’s beautiful locations then why not get a TEFL qualification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) that lets you live in another culture, earn some cash and allows you to travel in the holidays. Happy days!
