And in case you are having some residual doubts about your decision, the following advantages of living in Cyprus will put you at ease.

    1.    Affordable real estate prices, Incentives to home buyers

What attracts international premium home buyers to Cyprus is a range of benefits they get from the government upon buying property here, like tax breaks and title deeds at 50% of the original price, not to mention an European Union passport.

Just like elsewhere, property prices fell sharply here during the 2008 crisis. However, unlike most other parts of the world, property prices haven’t really risen much since their sharp fall. Moreover, Cyprus has surplus of luxury homes listed in real estate market.

However, thanks to the several incentives issued by the government, the real estate is now stabilizing. It all started in 2015 when transferring of title deeds was temporary cut by half. However, what was to be a temporary incentive might become a permanent feature, much to the delight of international home owners.

There are also talks of property tax, which sometime back was reduced by about 75%, being abolished in near future.

    1.    Warm temperatures

The climate here is Mediterranean, and as such winters here are mild, though summers can be a bit severe. The best part about the climate here is sunshine. Cyprus enjoys about 340 days of good sunshine a year.

The summer lasts for nearly 7 months, from early April to October end. Expect the maximum temperature to hover around 32 áµ’ C, but it can go up to nearly 40 áµ’ C. Nights are pleasant in the summer, with the average temperature being around 13áµ’ C – 24áµ’ C.

The lure of sunbathing pulls many people to Cyprus. However, keep in mind the summer sun here is quite powerful. Therefore, don’t forget to use strong sunscreen, as well as suitable protective gear, like sunglasses, hats, and clothing, when going out between peak hours, from about noon till 3:00 PM.

In spring, the daytime temperature might go down till 25 áµ’ C. In winter, the minimum temperature during the day is about 16 áµ’ C, while in night temperature can fall up to 9 áµ’ C.

    1.    High Safety Levels

Another major attraction of Cyprus is its low crime rates. It is often ranked by residents, as well as tourists, as the safest country to live in whole of Europe. Many British expats who have lived here for a few years believe that, compared to the UK, Cyprus has better security levels.

Petty theft, however, is pretty common, even though overall crime rate is low. Whether you are a tourist or an expat, you are recommended to stack your money, passport, and other valuables in a secure and safe place.

Cyprus is a wonderful place to raise kids. Children can play outdoors, without you worrying to death about their safety. On the whole, the environment across the island is generally secure. Nevertheless, as a parent, you might want to keep an eye on your young ones when they are playing outside to avoid any injuries or serious accidents.

    1.    High Healthcare Standards

While healthcare standards are reasonably good all over Cyprus, they are considerably better in northern and southern regions.  Expats can choose private or public healthcare, much like elsewhere.

    1.    Relaxed pace

Perhaps the best part of Cyprus is unhurried way of life. If you want to live in a place where you can easily balance your work and personal life, Cyprus is one place you should strongly consider.

As far as living cost in Cyprus is concerned, the opinion varies. However, most agree that compared to the UK, the cost of living in Cyprus is much lower, about 25% less. The difference becomes all the more greater when you compare cost of living in Cyprus with many other flourishing European nations.
