The surf, the stars, the sights and sounds — no place on Earth is quite like California.

When planning your next trip to the great state of California, be sure to visit these hot spot destinations.

    La Mesa

Located near San Diego, La Mesa is the “Jewel of the Hills” with many lovely hotels in the heart of the area for you to choose from. La Mesa is famous for its charming downtown area, commonly referred to as “The Village.” Every Friday afternoon at The Village Farmers Market, you can pick up some fresh fruit, veggies, and other delightful treats. If you’re looking for a night on the town, Montebello has many local breweries like the Bolt Brewery. Here, you can relax in their beer garden and listen to live music while sipping on their delectable home-brewed beers.

    Montebello

As you are making your way up the coast, be sure to book a stay in Montebello, located near the center of Los Angeles. Montebello is a perfect centralized location out of the hubbub of downtown LA. There are endless attractions and opportunities for sightseeing and shopping. Don’t miss the LA Zoo and Botanical Gardens, only $16 for children and $21 for adults. The Zoo features 1,400 mammals, birds, amphibians, and reptiles representing more than 270 different species, many of which are endangered.

    Mount Shasta

Mount Shasta — known in legend for being the sacred center of the universe — attracts over 26,000 visitors each year. Many believe that the fresh drinking water here is the most healing in the world. The area offers a central location for biking or hiking to waterfalls, streams, and lakes in the area, including nearby Mossbrae Falls, Lake Siskiyou, and Shasta Lake. Come for the scenery, stay for the healing energy.

    Napa

Carve out some time to relax and stay in Napa Valley. Along with being world-renowned for its 400 wineries and elevated cuisines, Napa is a full-on cultural experience. They have dozens of art galleries, museums, performing arts, theaters, even air balloon rides for spectacular views! As a special treat, you can tour Castello di Amorosa, a winery inspired by a 13th-century Tuscan castle. They offer exclusive tastings of their Italian-style wines as you explore multiple levels of the castle.

    Santa Cruz

Cruise on up and stay in Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz is famous for the Santa Cruz Wharf with 1.5 million annual visitors. The Wharf offers dozens of restaurants, gift shops, wine tastings, fishing opportunities, and a chance to watch sea lions on the beach below. Next door to the Wharf is the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, California’s oldest surviving amusement park. Here, you’ll find The Giant Dipper roller coaster, one of the most famous wooden coasters in the world. The ride is a National Historic Landmark and won the Golden Age Coaster and Coaster Landmark awards. There is no charge for admission, and the beach is public. However, when the rides are open, there is a fee for parking.

Mountains, ocean, rivers, deserts, forests, arts, endless entertainment, and shopping — California has it all and is just waiting for you. Start planning your dream vacation now.
