The best walking holidays in Europe

Walking is not only a fantastic form of exercise it is also a fantastic way of discovering a new city. The best way to explore the views and scenes on offer across the globe is to get stuck in with your own two feet and explore the great outdoors, vibrant cities and majestic wildlife at your own pace. You can opt for guided tours where informative locals set the route and fill you in on history, culture and points of interest, or you can simply go it alone, discovering the world wherever it is your feet take you. A walking holiday is a great option for keen ramblers or novices who would like a holiday with a difference, here’s our choice of the best spots for walking.

    1. I’m amazed that you haven’t included any walking in Scotland but have included in Lake District, though I suppose that many people would consider the walking in Scotland to be more extreme. It doesn’t have to be. There’s plenty for everyone even in the Highlands. Would you like suggestions?
