There are so many delightful places to live in Queensland whether they are by the coast or inland. Below is a selection of some prime locations to cater for most people’s tastes:
1. Caloundra
Caloundra is situated in the south part of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast with an almost perfect climate and an average of seven hours of sunshine each day. With beautiful stretches of beaches and the hinterland mountains at hand, it makes for an ideal place to bring up a family or to retire to.

This beachside town is a mere 91 kilometres away from Brisbane and only an hour’s drive from the Brisbane Airport and 35 minutes from the Sunshine Coast Airport, making it well placed should friends and relatives living a long distance away wish to visit for a holiday.
There is an extensive range of outdoor activities such as fishing, wind surfing and boating. It has a reputation as being Queensland’s tidiest town and has a great nightlife with some excellent restaurants.
There are excellent education facilities, property to cater for most people’s needs whether that be houses, apartments or duplexes and plenty of opportunities for work.
2. Brisbane
The cosmopolitan city of Brisbane is the capital of Queensland. It has over 1.7 million people in residence. The climate is ideal with warm temperatures most of the year. The tourism industry provides many opportunities for work. There is also where many larger corporations are situated.
This is a great city to bring up children with an excellent education system in place. The Sunshine and Gold Coasts are close by as are some great areas of countryside to go exploring. There is a vibrant theatre and arts culture and first rate sporting facilities.
Brisbane has a huge choice of homes available such as apartments and town houses. Although building can prove expensive in this part of Queensland, there are many house and land packages in Brisbane that will help you obtain the house of your dreams at a reasonable price.
3. Noosa
Noosa Heads is located on the Sunshine Coast, only 90 minutes north of Brisbane. It has a population of about 10,000 but the wider Noosa area has in the region of 35,000 inhabitants.

Noosa is renowned for its sub-tropical climate and lush scenery together with outstanding beaches and scuba diving, attracting tourists from all over the world.Noosa Heads is an affluent area but the whole of the Noosa area has some delightfully planned housing developments that have been carefully planned to ensure the surrounding area remains unspoilt. Schooling in the closely situated suburbs of Noosaville and Sunshine Beach is well respected.
4. Pacific Pines
This is one of the newest suburbs in the Gold Coast and an excellent place for families. With a population of over 9,000 located in the Hinterland some 80 kilometres from Brisbane and a ten-minute drive from the beaches of the Gold Coast, Pacific Pines is a perfect base.

Many expatriates from the UK have settled here with a range of accommodation types to choose from and several schools, shopping facilities, recreation and healthcare in place.
5. Montville
Montville is situated in the Hinterland of the Sunshine Coast and is a small community of about 350 people where you can choose to get away from the fast-paced life of the larger towns and cities. However, you are still a mere 40 minutes from the beaches of the Sunshine Coast.

It is a growing community with the main employment opportunities being in tourism, retail and hospitality as there are many unique shops and restaurants in the main street. Many people commute daily to the coast to work. Montville has a primary school but larger schools are within reasonable commuting distance. Homes are usually larger than those located in the cities but they tend to be more affordable.
