The Pittsburgh Pirates call PNC Park home, on the Allegheny River. With its stunning view of downtown Pittsburgh, this stadium provides a look into the various areas of the classic city. It follows a classic style, with limestone accents and steel trusses. The playing surface of the park is made out of Tuckahoe Blugress, which is a composite made from varying mixtures of Kentucky Bluegrass. Its dirt is also unique in that it is made from the patented “Dura Edge All-Star Infield Mix”, which is a special blend designed solely for the high-caliber athletics performed at PNC Park. Popular local restaurants set up booths during games, so guests enjoy unique cuisine beyond the traditional ballpark hot dog and peanuts.
