Andaman and Nicobar Islands: A Complete Travel Guide!!

    Andaman and Nicobar Islands are located far away from the Indian mainland, nestled in the Bay of Bengal. This beautiful Union Territory in India is comprised of 572 wonderful islands from which only 36 are inhabited and open for tourists. The place is very famous among nature lovers, honeymooners, adventure seekers, and travelers.

    Andaman and Nicobar Islands have shimmery beaches, glittery sand shores, and incredible corals. With plenty of tourist attractions and scenic beauty, this destination is on every travelers list.

    Some places come with a lot of things and activities and other important things.

    Here, I am writing some travel tips for Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

    • Travel

    Transportation is the first factor that comes in mind when you start planning for your trip. Travel cheaper will make your trip more exciting. So, it is very important to find a way to reach your travel destination. Port Blair, the capital city of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is well connected to all the major cities like New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Vishakhapatnam. Take a direct flight from the given city and reach Port Blair. It is advised to book your tickets in advance so that you will get them at cheaper rates. The next option is you can take a direct bus or train to the major cities which are mentioned above and then take a flight from there to Port Blair.

    The only and main way to reach Port Blair is by airways. There are some ships available from the ports of Chennai and Kolkata. If you are a sea lover then book your cruise in advance and enjoy sea ride to Port Blair. Do check the schedule of departure and timings as well.

    • Permits and Permissions

    If you are traveling from India then you do not require any permit or permission to enter in the land of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Foreigners and travelers from some other country required a passport and important documents for travel. In Andaman and Nicobar, there are a lot of islands and places which require permits and permission from the government. Take the necessary permits and then travel smoothly in Andaman.

    The favorite and exciting thing that everyone wants to do in Andaman is visiting beautiful beaches and magical islands. Andaman and Nicobar are full of islands, and by visiting the amazing islands make your trip worth remembering.

    The most popular and famous island in the Andaman Islands that offers amazing beaches and adventurous water sports activities. With the phenomenal Elephant beach, this island is a favorite spot for adventure lovers as well as Bird watchers. Scuba diving, sea walking, snorkeling are some popular activities that everyone undertakes when they visit Havelock.

    • Neil Island

    With pristine beaches, and romantic resorts and hotels. The place is a perfect pick for nature lovers. Sunsets and sunrises are beautiful here. Splendid views of sunsets and sounds of calm waters will make stay here for longer.

    • Radhanagar Beach

    This beach is ranked at no. 7 in the world for its clean surroundings and captivating nature views. It is truly an unforgettable curve white sand with crystal clear blue waters, all lined with lush green forest and palm trees. And, without a doubt, it is the most famous beach in the Andaman Islands.

    • Diglipur Island

    Diglipur Islands is in the north Andaman. The island is famous for ecotourism that covers an expanse of greenery and amazing marine life. Kalipur Beach, Pathi Level Beach, Ross and Smith Islands, Ramnagar Beach are some of the popular beaches of Diglipur Islands.

    • Jolly Buoy Island

    Long sandy shoreline and surrounded by dry tree trunk, Jolly Buoy Island is exceptionally popular for submerged corals and clear beach. This beach is famous for Scuba jumping and snorkeling activities. With a scene of mangrove swamps, tropical rainforests, white sandy shores, and coral reefs this island attracts a lot of tourists every year.

    • Connectivity

    You will get networks of  Airtel, BSNL works properly in Andaman. Port Blair city has got connectivity. But Islands like Bartarang and Havelock will be next to impossible to find networks. Forget the internet if you are head to Andamans. Make sure you will book your hotel and do the online payments prior.

    • Water Sports

    You can enjoy a lot of water sports activities like Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, sea walking, seaplane ride, and lot of other water activities. Explore the corals and experience the life beneath the blue waters of Andaman. Scuba diving instructors and experts are there to help and guide you. Havelock Island is a popular spot for underwater activities.

    • Carry Minimum Cash

    As I already mentioned about the poor internet connectivity in Andamans. Always carry a minimum cash with you because at some places the ATM machines do not work properly. Especially, before entering Havelock Island keep some cash with you so, that you can enjoy the water sports activities.
