Paphos harbour is quite a spectacle, packed with vibrant fishing boats and swanky yachts. Here you can kick back and relax in a cosy taverna or bubbly cafe and watch the boats come and go, while fishermen haul in the day’s catch and local people scurry about, mooring their vessels or readying for departure. From here, you can join a local boat tour to explore the beautiful coastline of west Cyprus, or enjoy a leisurely cruise to one of the local must-see attractions.
To experience the more modern side of Paphos, head to the restaurants, chic bars and cheerful pubs of lower Kato Paphos. Or if you’re in the mood for exploring, you could always hire a car and discover Cyprus’ beautiful rugged interior, or drive around the coast in search of a more authentic experience in its tiny villages and bustling coastal towns.
There is no end of culture and beautiful sights on a holiday to Paphos, and it certainly serves up many wonderful experiences that are far from your average sun-and-sand beach break. You can choose your holiday experience by selecting the style of accommodation that best suits you – whether it’s a luxury five-star golf resort, an all inclusive hotel, or a cheap and cheerful self-catering apartment.
But one thing’s for sure, whichever experience you choose, you can be sure of plenty of charm and character on holiday in Paphos.
