Some Of The Amazing Highlights Of Our Magnificent Vacation In Australia
Australia is not only a continent but also an island. This is what I told my husband to convince him that Australia would make a great cruise destination when we were in search of a longer, more exotic cruise. We only had about three weeks of vacation time but fortunately, we made the right choices during the planning stage because we were aware that the country is massive. One of those choices was the cruise we boarded for our vacation.
Our Cruise Experience
What can I say about our cruise experience? The ship we boarded was a sheer beauty. Our cruise line managed to combine the needs of a modern cruise ship with numerous quality features of historic ocean liners. The only way I can describe the cruise experience that the ship provided us with is to call it sheer perfection. My husband and three children were equally delighted. All in all, I experienced such an amazing time on the carnival spirit. Our motto for vacation in Australia was to visit fewer places but spend more time.
Our Different Experiences
Food and wine experiences: Just to tell you, I am an avid wine enthusiast and Australia catered me quite well. Since we had arrived in Western Australia, we decided to visit one of Australia’s world class wine regions in Margaret River. We even had some sample craft beers courtesy of the Eagle Bay Brewery. We also tried some boutique beers at a country pub where we were warmly welcomed by the locals. While we were in there we also dined at Kailis Fish Market Café where we had a scrumptious fish BBQ platter.
Coastal experiences: Since Australia is regarded as an Australian nation, so we decided why not let our vacation be somewhat of a coastal vacation. Some of the highlights of our coastal experience of our vacation include:
– At Broome, along Cable Beach, we rode on camel back and took in the sunset
– On the Byron Bay, we learned to surf, we swam with dolphins and we watched the whales
– On Gibb River Road, we took rides on 4wds
– At Bondi beach, we ate fish and chips
Outback experience:
When we decided to have a bit an outback experience during our vacation, we decided to the centre and heartland of Australia. This is where we experienced the real dramatic landscapes and vastness. We experienced life under the stars; we went camping, horse riding and sang songs around the campfire. Visiting the outback was a unique experience for us and I would encourage other travelers to add this to their list.
Wildlife and nature experience: Since we also wanted to enjoy a wildlife and nature experience, Australia proved to be an ideal destination for that as well. We discovered that some of the most diverse and unique wildlife inhabits the rainforests and red-stone deserts are in Australia. We even visited Fraser Island, and also got up close and personal with Koalas, turtles and saltwater crocodiles at various spots.
Thus, that sums up our cruise vacation to Australia and I must say that it was an amazing vacation right from the moment we stepped foot in our cruise ship.
