The iPad has many downloadable travel applications that can give you directions, suggestions, currency updates and weather updates. Using any of the travel apps will help keep your trip enjoyable and safe.

    TripIt- This app is one of the best made for the iPad. It allows you to input all your travel information and documents it into an itinerary. No more having to carry different flight confirmations, hotel reservations and car or dining information. You will have it all combined into one and are sure not to misplace anything. TripIt also provides you with a currency calculator, news updates and local weather updates.

    AllSubway HD- If you are traveling to a large city, this app is a must. It has all the subway and train schedules and maps for over 100 cities in the world. You will no longer have to rely on strangers to help you make your way through the city. You will be able to navigate yourself through town by using the subway system.

    Urbanspoon- This iPad app is perfect for foodies on the world. It allows you to find restaurants in your area based on the criteria that you provide. Just put in the location, type of cuisine and price that you want to spend and Urbanspoon will come up the local restaurants that are a match. You will also see reviews on the restaurants so you can avoid the bad ones and focus on the good ones.

    Kayak- This app is perfect for traveling, but also helps when planning your trip. It will find you the best flights that meet the guidelines you are looking for. You can display the flights by cost, time and airline. Kayak also gives you up-to-date information on your flight status.

    LooPt Pulse- This fun app will help guide you to everything you need. Whether you are looking for the closest bank, bar, hotel or Italian restaurant, LooPt Pulse will get you there. Just put in what you are looking for and the app will find the location closest to you. It will also provide you with a map and directions for getting there. What more could you need?

    Traveling is supposed to be a time of relaxation, fun and entertainment. However, when you have to worry about having guidebooks, documents and currency exchanges, then it can quickly become a nightmare. By having the different travel apps on your iPad you will be able to enjoy the time you spend on your trip.
