Getting some fresh air, bonding with your family and enjoying the great outdoors – there are many benefits to taking a caravan break. It also means that you can explore the local area you are camping in, as well as making use of all the facilities that are available on the campsite you have chosen.

Below are five locations which are renowned for offering some of the best caravan holiday parks in the UK.

    1. Somerset

Fancy a trip to the beach, a stroll along a harbour, or even a trek in the countryside? Well, then you are going to want to get your camping gear down to Somerset, which has all of these things and more! Home to some beautiful villages and scenery, it is a location of great beauty. All you animal lovers may also find that you bump in to an Exmoor pony or red deer as you stroll along its paths too. Attractions on offer in the area include Exmoor National Park, Dunster Castle, the Fleet Air Arm Museum and Clarks Shopping Outlet Village.

    2. Hampshire

If you are after a wealth of activities, then you should definitely head down to Hampshire. With local attractions including Monkey World, Paultons Park, the Tank Museum and Beaulieu National Motor Museum, there is really something to keep everyone entertained. There are also several quaint seaside towns, as well as beautiful woodlands to explore throughout your break.

    3. Dorset

For those of you that want a sandy beach, then you will be hard-pressed to find one better than Bournemouth’s bustling shores, where there are a wealth of attractions, bars, restaurants and shops to amuse you if you fancy a change from lazing in the sun. However, if you want something a bit quieter, there are also harbour towns, such as Christchurch, which offers a more tranquil setting. Attractions such as Bournemouth Oceanarium, Go Ape! Moor Valley and Crane Valley Golf Course are also available in the area.

    4. Cornwall

If you’ve always fancied trying out surfing, then book yourself a caravan in a Cornwall campsite straight away, as the area is known for having some of the best hotspots for the sport in the whole of the UK. There are also traditional weekly markets in the county, where you can pick up some local produce, as well attractions such as the Mid Cornwall Galleries and the Jamaica Inn Museum to enjoy.

    5. Cotswolds

With beautiful lakes and gentle countryside on offer, the Cotswolds is one of the most relaxing holiday hotspots the UK has to offer. Why not grab a pint or a nice lunch in a country pub, or have a cake and a cup of tea in one of the area’s quaint tearooms. Or if you’re feeling really adventurous, sports such as fishing, sailing and kayaking are widely on offer in the area.
