Time can really be deceiving. It passes by so fast that sometimes you lose track of it. And more often than not, people find themselves looking at the mirror only to discover that they have acquired so much stress through the years. Saggy eyes, wrinkled skin, and lethargy are signs of aging and deterioration. It ain’t a pretty sight when you feel neglected and worn out just because you didn’t release your stress early in your life. God allowed man to acquire logic for many reasons, and one of them is the ability to realize when to take care of himself.

Over the years, life has pounded me with the worst possible situations a person could receive. I almost gave up on life, thinking that there is no reason for me to enjoy it. And when you get to that point, you actually think that it isn’t worth it to rise up anymore. Well it’s a good thing that I am half Filipino, and one of the best traits of a Filipino is never giving up on life, no matter how hard it is.
Last year, I got to visit my home country for the first time and I really enjoyed it. It feels so good when you are able to release so much fear and anger by trying out new things. It’s similar to discovering a whole new world where you are able to fit in and enjoy what’s coming. So if ever your visiting the Philippines, here’s a list of some awesome things to do to release stress.
Swim with Dolphins
One of the most awesome things to do is by going to Subic Bay Ocean Adventure park. Aside from sea lions, tropical fish and sharks, this impressive marine life based attraction lets you go and swim with their pet dolphins. I was lucky enough to have been there and I ‘m telling you there’s nothing like it in the world.
Throw Some Plates After Eating
The sound of broken plates is not considered taboo in this restaurant. The Isdaan restaurant in in the city of Gerona, Tarlac offers a unique way to release stress and that’s by throwing some plates and other fragile things in a wall. This activity is popularly known as Taksyapo, which means “up yours!” in English. Guests can also throw alarm clocks, vases, glass tea cups and even a television. How cool is that?
Experience The Nightlife
Manila, the capital of the Philippines is popularly known for its never ending night life. Barhopping, partying, and laughing the night away in Manila’s best bars is indeed a must try. The most popular of these areas is found in Timog Avenue in Quezon City. It’s like a small Las Vegas but is swarmed by different kinds of bars and party place. At a very low price, you can drink and dance your worries away and even meet some new friends or lovers.
Eat On The Street
And lastly, I recommend that you try eating street food. Usually costing less than a dollar, vendors offer a wide variety of yummy choices. From fried quail eggs to exotic chicken organs, your tummy will surely crave for more after one bite. And who isn’t familiar with balut right? This exotic food was actually introduced by the Chinese and since then has become a traditional delicacy to Philippine palletes. Also some believe that eating balut with beer increases stamina and sexual drive. Just ask the vendors from Pateros, Mani’asbalut capital, which has been supplying balut all over the region and has become a very popular place to eat duck embryo.
