    Rocking Your Wedding Photos

The Keys to the Best Wedding Pictures

Unless you are a model, movie star, or newscaster you probably are not used to being in front of cameras. You want to get the best looking wedding photos you can but you don’t know where to start! What to do, what to do…..here are some tips to get you started!

First off, have fun! If you are having a great time it will show. Think about how happy you are to be marrying your spouse and to have your family and friend there to witness it. Your happiness will show on your face and in the way you look at each other.

The reverse also applies. If you are feeling anxious or stressed at all, it will show. Your guests will take their cues from your emotions; if you feel upset, they will be able to tell and will feel anxious themselves. If the unexpected happens, try to go with the flow. Just try to smile and enjoy the day. If you are sending out good vibes the party will go on!

Relax during the wedding. Don’t try to run everything yourself. Ask a trusted friend or family member to keep track of all the details so that you can focus on enjoying the day.

This one is pretty obvious but make sure that you get plenty of rest during the days before the wedding. If you feel tired, you will look tired! Hold the bachelor/ bachelorette parties a week or two before the wedding day and don’t stay out to late during the rehearsal dinner.

If you can, book a trial appointment with your hair dresser and make up artist. You will be able to try your hair with your veil and your accessories to make sure you like the whole look. If there’s something you don’t love you will have time to fix it. You will be looking at these pictures for the rest of your life so make sure you love the way you look!

Make a list of people you want to have a picture with and give it to your photographer. That way you can be sure to get a picture with Great Aunt Opal before she nods off for a nap in her wheelchair.

When hiring a photography, ask for references and a portfolio of previous wedding that he / she has photographed. It is probably a good idea to conduct a Google search based on the photographer and to check the Better Business Bureau for recent complaints.
