Holiday World & Splashin’ Safari, Santa Claus, Indiana
Visitors to Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari will be amazed at the world’s longest water coaster – ‘The Wildebeest’. If riding the longest water coaster wasn’t exhilarating enough, perhaps riding the world’s largest enclosed waterslide, ZOOMbabwe, in total darkness will put you over the top. Adults will pay around forty dollars and children will pay around $30. As an added bonus, the admission prices includes free soft drinks and sunscreen.
Typhoon Lagoon, Orlando Florida
This park has it all, from body slides, inner tubes, surfing lessons and many other attractions. You can raft along the 2,000 foot long ‘Castaway Creek’ which will take you around the entire water park. ‘Shark Reef’ will get you up and close to sharks, stingrays and other tropical fish as you swim alongside. Adults will pay just over $50 and children just over $40.
Noah’s Ark Water Park, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin
Your heart will race as you plunge down the ‘Scorpion’s Tail’ – a waterslide that almost vertically loops. If you would rather stay dry but wish to experience all the thrills of a water park, go to the 4-D ‘Dive-In’ theatre. It will cost an adult around $36 to get into the park, $28 for people under the height of 5’4, and is free for all seniors.
Kahuna Laguna, North Conway, New Hampshire
Kahuna Laguna is an indoor water park and is open year round. Enjoy tropical weather even in the middle of the winter. This park includes high speed tube slides, a wave pool and a water basketball court. Located in the mountains of North Conway, visitors of all ages will enjoy this water park. Admission is a flat fee of $40.
Water Country USA, Williamsburg, Virginia
Water Country USA is Virginia’s largest water park. The 30 water rides and attractions will keep visitors busy and entertained. Riders can travel 20 feet per second down the dark tubes of ‘Aquazoid’ or go a rafting ride through the 700 foot long ‘BigDaddyFalls.’ Many visitors have also noted that the food was delicious at Water Country USA. Rates range from $47 for guest 10 and older, $40 for kids aged three to nine, and no charge for children under the age of three.
NRH20 Waterpark, North Richland Hills, Texas
Nothing beats the hot Texan sun like the NRH20 Waterpark in North Richland Hills, Texas. Ride the ‘Green Extreme’ – a seven story tall waterslide. If you want a little competition, race a friend head first down the four-lane ‘Accelerator.’ NRH20 Waterpark is a great family destination. Admission is $24 for visitors over 4’8” and $20 for those under that height. Children under the age of two are free.
Adventureland, Des Moines, Iowa
Adventureland is a sprawling 180 acre resort that has a plethora of activities for those who want to cool off or for those who want to stay dry. Try the ‘Bermuda Quadrangle,’ a set of four inner tube slides. Have a water fight at the ‘Kokomo Kove’ with more than 100 water features – including hose jets and water guns. Expect to pay $35 for guest 10 and up, and $30 for guest four to nine as well as seniors.
