The Top Three Things to do in Nepal

Nepal is the destination that has something for everyone. A destination like Nepal is completely different to anywhere in Europe and it can provide you with a truly unique holiday. There are literally hundreds of places to visit and thousands of things to do. Here are just a few ideas that can get your creative juices flowing.

    Explore the Everest Region

Channel your inner explorer with a classic trek up towards the Everest Base Camp. This year is the 60th Anniversary of the very first Everest Ascent. Known as the ‘roof of the world’, Everest is a huge physical challenge, but one that reaps great rewards. For example, some of the views surrounding Everest are simply stunning and if you meet up with an experienced Sherpa guide you’ll soon be scaling this 8,848km-high beast.

The climb is incredibly demanding and you don’t have to do all of it. However, having said that, there’s no greater joy than telling your family that you’ve literally been on top of the world.

Go on an Enlightening Religious Journey

Lumbini is widely considered to be one of the most important Buddhist sites in the world as it is the birthplace of the Lord Buddha. The Lumbini Garden witnessed the birth, and ever since, it has attracted pilgrims.

The Garden itself is now a UNESCO world heritage site and it is surrounded by temples. If you have an interest in religion then this is the perfect destination to visit. Even if you’re just remotely interested in Buddhism and its principals, the whole experience can be incredibly enlightening.

    Discover the Temples of Bhaktapur

Bhaktapur is Nepal’s third largest town. Although most people know Kathmandu, Bhaktapur is a fantastic alternative and it contains more temples per-foot, too. The charm of Bhatapur comes from its traditional nature and its cobbled streets.

This means that Bhaktapur is perfect for exploring by foot. If you’re a fan of this type of exploring and like visiting the unseen sights that many towns have to offer then look no further than Nepal.

Nepal really does have something for everyone and it is a majestic holiday location if you fancy somewhere exotic. If you’re thinking of visiting the area, however, you should check out companies like Nepal Uncovered as planning your own holiday from scratch can be incredibly expensive.

    1. Lovely post. A friend went up Everest, after failing the first time he tried. He said that it was worth everything he went through to, quite literally, stand at the top of the world.
