Scotland is a wonderful location for someone to take a relaxing holiday. You can take your pick whether you want to get out there and enjoy nature, drink some tea at a cosy tea house, or plan day-to-day light activities. Here are some ways you can enjoy a relaxing trip to Scotland this holiday.
Enjoying Nature
Scotland is well known for its Highlands ranges and hills, but there is even more to the Scottish landscape that people on holiday should make an effort to enjoy. To begin, Scotland has several National Parks; one of which is the Loch Lomond National Park and is mainland Britain’s largest freshwater area. There, you can enjoy the amazing landscape by biking, hiking, or going out on the water in the Loch Katrine.
Be sure to bring your binoculars to check out all of the wildlife, especially the birds. Loch Lomond National Park is known for the water fowls, ospreys, capercaillie and peregrines that frequent the area. There are also plenty of deer, red squirrels, water voles, and otters to observe in their habitat.
Look for nearby spas near Loch Lomond as well. After a long day of walking around and enjoying nature you can relax and rewind with a facial or massage afterwards.
Light Activities
If you are looking for somewhere quiet to sit, relax, or enjoy light activities, look no further than Strathmore Valley. Located in Strathmore Valley is the River Ardle and along it you can enjoy a picnic or even fish if you like. Pick a spot at dawn or sunset to sit and enjoy the view of the valley. Any spot you pick will be perfect.
Visit Nearby Towns
Many tourists enjoy visiting the capitals or the largest cities of some countries, but there is a lot to appreciate about the small towns. One town includes Perth where there are many attractions and shops for visitors to go to on almost every street. More notably, there are several traditional tea houses you can visit. One place is the Small Talk Tea Room that has a vintage feel and mouth-watering pastries from cupcakes, scones, to cookies. Another vintage tea house after the 1930s era, Curiositeaz, which serves equally delicious tea and pastries, but more as well. At Curiositeaz, you can also purchase jewellery (both men and women), tea sets, vases, as well as rent their china dishes for special occasions.
Perth also has golf courses if you want to play a game or two as well as a take a visit to Woodland Park if you want to enjoy more of Scotland’s nature. Just be sure to wear the right clothing: at Woodland Park there are several streams with rocks you will have to climb over on this trip.
When you visit Scotland, there are many activities you can take part in; even if it’s just to relax and enjoy the scenery without the hustle and bustle of the city.
