It’s hard to imagine that, at the entertainment capital of the world, some people still ask, “What should we do tonight?” Perhaps they just don’t realize where they truly are! Even if you are a local, you may not know just how blessed you are. So, what are the top Las Vegas shows? Let’s take a gander at a few categories.
Free Shows on and off the Strip
Just walking the Strip is an entertainment adventure itself, but add in all the amazing displays that the major hotels offer for free, and you could keep busy for weeks! When the weather isn’t crazy, outdoor shows include the fountains at the Bellagio, The Sirens of TI at Treasure Island, and the Volcano Eruption at the Mirage. The Fremont Street Experience is a festive light show that is semi-outdoors. Indoor shows include free hourly circus acts at Circus Circus, the Fall of Atlantis fountain show inside Caesar’s Palace, and the Masquerade Show in the Sky at the Rio. If you’re willing to drive a bit, another wonderful fountain show takes place at Sam’s Town on Boulder.

Music
Formerly the host of the Rat Pack, we continue the celebration of such celebs as Sammy Davis Jr., Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, and Bing Crosby with impeccable impersonators. You can also find the likes of Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe, Barbara Streisand, Wayne Newton – and never forget the King himself, Elvis Presley – gracing the strip – you just have to look.
If you want the real deal, our residents include Celine Dion, Elton John, Rod Stewart, Carlos Santana, and the newly arrived Shania Twain. How could we forget Donnie and Marie? Each has a permanent show on the Strip, usually with multiple performances each week. Go back to Freemont Street in the summer, where you may see multiple free concerts at any given time.

Just about any major act that is on tour comes through any one of our many venues, so track your favorite band or artist and perhaps you can schedule your vacation in Vegas for when they are performing here. Concerts are much more fun here because you get to play and drink on your way in, and there’s so much going on all the time that the crowds at any particular show tend to be smaller than they would be in your home town.
Comedy
Many well-known comedians call Las Vegas home, and you can keep laughing it up the whole time you’re here. From the well-known headliners to the open mic nights, you can find a comedy club that’s open at just about any time, in just about any place. Residents include Jerry Seinfeld, Dana Carvey, and if you’re looking for something more edgy, Daniel Tosh is a resident at the Mirage. They come and go, so ask around when you’re in town.
Just Amazing
Vegas has an abundance of the wild and remarkable – and we’re host to several Cirque du Soleil shows that will knock your socks off! Chances are, if you’re staying in one of the major hotels on the Strip, they have one of Cirque’s astonishing shows.
Las Vegas is also home to several illusionists, from those doing card tricks on the street to the big names you may have only seen on TV. Check out the ticket kiosks for a listing of current shows, and don’t worry if you can’t pick just one. Go big – the bigger the better – and get ready to be astounded.
Whatever show you see, you’re sure to have a memorable experience that you won’t soon forget, so come to fabulous Las Vegas, where the fun never stops.
