Diving is one of the best ways to challenge oneself and be at peace with nature. Diving is an activity that enables me to enjoy myself by experiencing ocean life in a way that most people never will. If I could, I would spend all of my time exploring the ocean. If you are an avid diver like me, then you probably wish that you would get an opportunity to visit some of the world’s best diving sites before you die. Some of the diving sites that should appear on the bucket list of every fan of this particular water activity are:
This southerly nation offers a great experience for any diver looking to challenge him or herself. I would recommend this particular diving site because it is a great place for seeing the man-eating Great White. Of course I had an expert along, and we were completely safe in a cage from these frightful predators. The Gansbaai is a place I have enjoyed so much with the large seal and penguin population being a great food attraction to the sharks I wanted to see. I got my money’s worth by going to this site.
Borneo is one of the largest islands in the world and is the preserve of three countries namely Malaysia, Brunei and Indonesia. Borneo as a whole, offers some of the best diving sites in the world, no matter which of the three countries you are in. If you opt for diving Borneo style like I did, you will get to experience sea creatures and water life the likes of which you may never see anywhere else in the world. Some of these include several species of non-stinging jellyfish, sea cucumbers and sponges, turtles, manta rays, sharks, barracudas, among other things. Luckily I found a great deals for my diving experience in Borneo. If that is not enough, you will be able to dive to great depths within the sea thus allowing you to access plenty of corral life. Rig diving is also on offer in some of the areas within Borneo if your preferences lie in this direction. The island is indeed, one of the best diving sites in the world for fans of marine wildlife and I personally recommend it.
While most people know Egypt as the land of Pharaohs, few know that it is one of the best diving sites in the world. I have been privileged to go Sharm el-Sheik, which is located on the Sinai Peninsula within the Red Sea. I was able to enjoy deep dives of over 130 feet and got to see plenty of reef fish, ghost-pipe fish as well as sea horses. The Thistlegorm wreck is also located within the area and I saw it for a short while. The Yolanda reef is also another place that I enjoyed very much. With over 20 diving sites within the area located in Ras Mohammed National Park, Egypt gave me plenty of options as far as marine wildlife viewing was concerned. It also helps that the waters are quite warm there.
The above are just a few of the best diving sites I have been able to enjoy in my travels around the world and there are many more you can learn about if you research them. The three I have mentioned here however, will surely give you great value for your money, I can guarantee it. I love spending time in the water, and I am happiest while diving. These three diving sites will always be my favorite, and I hope to have many more diving adventures.
