After watching the changing of the guards outside Buckingham Palace visit the Cavalry museum where you can get more of an insight to the private lives of some of the world’s finest soldiers and horsemen and learn about the extravagant preparation that goes into the regal ceremonies. You can even see the guards working closely with their horses in the old-fashioned wooden stables – it’s not any old museum and it’s a must for those interested in Britain’s long and beautiful history.
Hampton Court Palace
The next royal residence on your list should include Hampton Court Palace.  The sprawling palace is situated in beautiful formal grounds and each flower bed has been perfectly maintained to keep with royal tradition of all things fine. This palace is most famously known as the former residence of the notorious King Henry VI – it’s said that all his wives resided at the palace and it is also thought to be the favoured place where he proposed. It’s a place not only fit for a king but where history and religion changed the face of Britain.
Kensington Palace
Kensington Palace is also another must, not dissimilar in appearance from the other palatial homes it is the ideal way to learn about some of the more controversial females who have helped shape British history. It’s where Queen Victoria once resided and it houses the biggest and most extravagant collection of personal belongings once belonging to Princess Diana. So if you’d like to see some of her more iconic dresses from her life, be sure to visit Kensington Palace – the palace that remains the favourite amongst the royals of today.
Tower of London
Visiting London cannot be done without seeing the Tower of London. Walk through the cold stoned building that once was a royal residence for over 900 years. Step inside the prison where many a man was executed and feel the ghostly presence of the ghosts walking among you. Of course you’ll get the opportunity to see the Crown Jewels in all their glory – it will leave you imagining what it’s like to be crowned king or queen.
If you have time there are many more royal places to visit such as the Queen’s gallery, the Royal Mews and Kew Palace. Whether you’re a royalist or not visiting London without seeing some of the greatest royal attractions is like taking a Paris tour from London and not seeing the Eiffel Tower.
